NEW YEARS DAY 09……..THIS YEAR THERE WILL BE A MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE(IN WILLIAMSBURG, Freedom PARK)AT NOON, IN ADDITION TO THE 25 MILE ROAD RIDE HERE AT THE BEACH LEAVING FROM THE OVERFLOW LOT AT MT TRASHMORE AT NOON(novice riders can at that time just enjoy a few loops around the lake),ONCE AGAIN WE`LL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE MEREDITH NICOLLS HEALTH FUND from11:30 til noon…LAST YEAR WE RAISED OVER 1400 DOLLARS, THE GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO BEAT LAST YEARS TOTAL. MEREDITH REALLY APPRECIATES EVERY DOLLAR AND EVERY OUNCE OF ENERGY WE ALL PUT TOWARDS THESE RIDES,,,,, WHAT A GREAT WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR….

the 1st annual miles4meredith ride went off without any problems, the weather cooperated perfectly, we had 33 riders at the start, maybe next year we`ll have 50??????? we managed to raise over a $1000.00 for the meredith nicolls health fund!!! outstanding, !!!! Meredith called rite after the ride was over , he wanted to come out , but he`s still getting used to his new power chair, he said he really appreciates everyones efforts, and to keep on riding……i`d like to also thank everyone again for helping out, anyways happy new yeaar everyone, be safe and know you did a good thing today…….

p.s. keep your ears open for the parts 4 meredith swap meet coming this spring!!!!!!!!!

the 1st annual miles4meredith ride will be new years day 2008….the purpose of this page and the rides thru the year will benefit local cyclist and chef Meredith Nicolls….meredith was injured a couple years ago while racing his MTB…. the spinal cord injury he incurred has currently left him a quadriplegic…..FLyER !!!!!!!

the ride will be 25 miles , we`ll leave Mt Trashmore(VaBeach) around noon….all types of bikes and riders welcome(pace will be around 16mph…what i`d like for everyone to do is get as many people possible to donate to you by the mile!!!!!for example 1$ per mile equals $25 (be creative , get people to team up, 4 people X25cents also equals $25) make all checks payable to (the meredith nicolls health fund)….. come on out and get the new year started right by helping MEREDITH!!!!HOPE TO SEE YA THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! CUE SHEET…AVAILIBLE ALL FUNDS WILL BE COLLECTED BEFORE THE RIDE IN THE PARKING LOT BETWEEN THE YMCA AND MT TRASHMORE…..
